Rest In Paradise, Michael Jackson.

Hm, there was less blogging about MJ than I thought there would be... so I'm just gonna paste my Xanga entry onto here...

Yesterday, I couldn't believe what just happened. It felt like it was all a joke, like he would jump up and start dancing and say he was just kidding. But he never did.

Out of all celebrities' deaths that I have known, it never hit until the King of Pop passed away. It was so unexpected, so quick. He really was the only living man I could think of, that the whole world knew. He was so amazing, and he contributed so much to our culture. He was entertaining... a talented singer, dancer, performer. I am so glad that he lived through part of my lifetime.

He really inspired me in music, even in dancing, acting even. Haha, when I was trying out for The Wiz musical at school, I wanted to be the Scarecrow because of him. I learned from his amazing singing. I tried imitating his body movements. He was so goood. I made Man in the Mirror one of my inspiration songs, to become a better person, to go out there and try to make the world a better place. I thought he was one of the coolest people ever.

Of course, I was affected by his flaws, and I asked whyy ?! But wow, does God teach us a lesson. God made this talented person who has been able to touch so many lives, or at least be part of so many lives... and what does the world see? They only see the outside, the rumors, the flaws... But here is a man who sings powerful, thoughtful songs. A man who has so much influence, one who could reach out to so many people. With his death, it's amazing to see how many, if not everybody, people see past his imperfection, and recognize the significance he has made in their lives. To see how everybody was affected by this man's death...it's just so sad.

I was quite sad to hear the tragic news, I kept thinking maybe it was just a fake death and he was just on some island of his own or something, so that he could finally get away from the bad things in life. But I'm actually pretty happy. He truly was a significant man in this world, and I'm glad he's somewhere up there, where he'll sing and dance with angels, in peace. Someday we'll see him live, haha. MJ, thank you for your music.

Michael Jackson's a freaking legend. :) The world says bye, we'll missya.

"and he contributed so much to our culture"

haha that made me think of the time in sandoval's class where we had to choose someone or something that represents our culture in america, past or present. and you guessed it! me liana steph meza and cindy higashida did our project on MICHAEL JACKSON. we wanted to dance to one of his songs for extra credit. we showed the billie jean and the beat it music video. we danced to beat it. hahahhaa

and you wanna know the craziest part of all? i had to do it in my choir dress. FULL COSTUME cuz it was freshman orientation where we had to perform for the 8th graders that day. out of all days - -x

mhmm
now i kinda wish that i can live a life like his. i noe he screwed up horribly towards the end, but he's had enjoyed everything!
i mean, what he got/achieved in 50 years surpasses what everyone else got/achieved in 100 years.
i guess it's a life worth living for.
but then, of course, he's got grievances as well. poor lonely man :(
